Course Descriptions:

Introduction to the use of computer and software as tools to solve engineering problems in a creative and efficient manner. This course will (1) provide students with "hands on" experience with CAD functions available in standard commercial packages, (2) conduct modeling and analysis of mechanical components and systems for engineering design purposes, (3) explain fundamental mathematics in the computational methodologies such as finite element analysis and design optimizations, and (4) perform practical design examples and design projects.

Prerequisite: E28

Text Books (reference only):

Projects:

There will be 4 design projects during the semester. Project#1 is individual design project and Project#2,3,4 are team projects. The final project requires a one-page proposal and an oral project presentation to be held at the end of the semester.
